One of the signs that a baby is about to say his or her first word is babbling. Babies will try out easy sounds like bah/mah/pah/dah. Which connects back to the words for mother and father in a whole host of languages. The structure of parentese encourages these short sounds. Reddit is full of young guys who don’t know much about babies. Almost every baby video brings up “Baby talk is bad, use real words so your kid will be smart.” But that isn’t what the research says. I have seen people really fail to engage with their baby and that is much more concerning. No idea what you’re talking about, but I think there are biological reasons some kids need speech therapy, I don’t think it is all nurture.
